The “Red Zone” Soul, which features one-of-a-kind styling and features, will show the Soul’s sporty side and give drivers even more choices when they start shopping for a Kia Soul.
Kia knows how to make great special editions, so another impressive Soul comes as little surprise.
“Red Zone” Kia Soul
The special-edition Red Zone Soul is inspired by the highly-popular Track’ster concept that unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
Kia Motors says it will only make 2,000 units of the “Red Zone” Soul, with vehicles expected to arrive in early 2014.
The Red Zone is actually the first special edition based on the second-generation Soul, specifically the Kia Soul Plus, a model that delivers excellent features and interior comfort.
The Red Zone has its own personality with a white exterior paint and an aggressively styled body kit that sports red accents from front to back. Highlights on the front grille, front and rear fascias, and side skirts create a lasting image to the car’s exterior.
Custom 18-inch alloy wheels keep the Red Zone firmly planted to the road, while 164 horsepower is delivered from the 2.0L four-cylinder engine.
The interior is equally impressive with black cloth accented by red stitching, a leather steering wheel, and a black-leather dash hood with red stitching. Carpeted floor mats with red piping and sports pedals create an exciting driving experience, while the shift knob ring, air vent ring, dash speakers and console tray have all been dipped in red paint, perfectly capping the “Red Zone” theme.
Michael Sprague, Kia’s VP of Marketing and Communications, said that “special editions have been a part of the lineup since the first-generation Soul went on sale in 2009”. He says that the Soul already appeals to people who express their individuality through their vehicle, making it the perfect choice for a “Red Zone” version.
